Munro

Microchipped, Neutered and Vaccinated

Stunning lad Munro his looking for his forever family,

Munro is a loving, intelligent and playful dog who thrives on positive reinforcement and enjoys learning new skills. He is affectionate with his family, settles well at home, and loves scent games, fetch, swimming and exploring. He is loyal and eager to please.

Munro can be fearful around new people, particularly men when out walking. He will often bark/ growl if he is caught off guard or if someone approaches him directly. Once introduced to new people he settles very quickly – he just needs a bit of support to get through the initial interaction and know that he is safe. With women, he tends to absolutely love them and so then needs support to rein in his excitement!

He is good when meeting other dogs. He will either ignore them or say hi quickly then move on. He likes to play with the odd dog sometimes. But, if a dog is being too much he’ll do a warning growl then move along. He has become friends with another dog who he enjoys spending time with

Munro is extremely fearful of moving cars and bikes, so would benefit from living in a rural environment. Walking next to a busy road is very overwhelming for him. He walks well on the lead and is very responsive when in quieter environments. He has a good recall when in the country and thrives in this environment. He would also benefit from a large enclosed garden.

Munro has bilateral hip dysplasia. He does not weight bear properly through his hind legs so walks to around 30-40 mins with breaks. He absolutely loves chasing a ball, but only for a short time. Throwing the ball into long grass so he focuses more on searching rather than running and stopping quickly. He takes painkillers as required and has recently had a period of physio which he did really well with. He also gets joint supplements.

He is a fantastic dog who is very responsive and with lots more potential although has had amazing training so far. He also loves a car journey but can only be left for short periods of time.
