Meet Astro

Astro will have you amazed at how brainy he is, and in the next minute, laughing at his goofy and playful personality.  He is a friendly boy – likes to sit on your feet or right next to your legs, loves attention & to play with toys (the toys don’t last long!).

He has previously had a back issue (discospondylitis), this was treated with antibiotics and crate rest.   He is no longer on medication for this and once Astro was able to go out for exercise and walks again, he started to show signs of anxiety while outdoors – this is something an adopter would need to be prepared to commit to working with a trainer to resolve.  Astro has colour dilution alopecia and his skin can appear flaky at times.

He is a strong lad & currently walked using a halti-headcollar, he responds well to basic commands but can fixate on other dogs.  He can be vocal when he sees other dogs and isn’t quite sure how to behave around them as yet.  With patience, guidance and the right training, Astro has potential to overcome this.

Applications are welcome from potential adopters with experience of large breed dogs and understanding & commitment to training to resolve anxious behaviour.
