The Process

At DAWGS we want to ensure each adoption is as successful as possible and you get the dog that best suits your needs and circumstances. All the dogs being re-homed are featured on our website.

If you see one you think is right for you, fill in the on-line contact form. Give as much details as you can as to why you think you would be the best match for the dog you have applied for.

Our re-homing team may get lots of enquiries about some dogs and may not be able to contact everyone personally but you will be sent an email letting you know what the situation is.

Rehoming Applications

As many of you will be aware, DAWGS is a small charity run by volunteer Trustees and one part time rehoming officer.

We ask that when you apply for a dog via the website, please read their story in full to ensure that you meet all the requirements that the dog needs.  Once you have made an application, and the applications have closed, our rehoming officer will evaluate and get in touch with those we believe to be suitable applicants.

Please do not call the office or email to ask about your application, as this only delays the process in finding a dog their forever home.  All applicants will receive a response as soon as practically possible.

There will be many more dogs looking for their new pawrents, therefore please consider very carefully your suitability for any dog you wish to apply for.

Once A DAWGS Dog – Always A DAWGS Dog – DAWGS is always on hand in the future should you have any questions or concerns.

If you would like us to help re-home your dog, or for further information, please contact our re-homing team on 01224 208989 or email us at
